Valorant records where every player is only at the moment of a kill, a plant or a defuse, not continuously. Without a replay on record the map shows everybody at each of those moments and holds them there until the next one; the dotted stub behind a player is the jump from their previous position, not the path taken. With the replay loaded from the app, everybody moves along their real path, the badge on a marker is what they hold, the smokes, mollies and traps land where they were thrown and last as long as they did, and the strip lists each player's weapon, ability charges and ultimate points at the clock. A drone or a boom bot is drawn where it was launched. The heat map is one player's positions across the whole match.
